Life of Pi by Yan Martell

This Book is quite interesting, but as usually to follow my reading moody, I reckon this book in 3 parts. 1st Part is when the 16 yr old boy (Piscine or Pi Patel) storied about his live in India. Two interesting topics are : talking about animal and religion. His father owned the Zoo, Pi described his animal in details, about their habits, etc. Because I love animal, I really enjoy reading it. (Geez, I think I have no talent to make book review :) ) The other topic is about the religion. First he is so doubtful abt each religions, but finally he began interested and he even being a Moslem, Christian and Hindunese in the same time. He is really a religion person for each religion. The funny thing happened when the religion leaders met incidently with Pi and his family, this is really the funny part. Due to the instability politic in their country, they plan to migrate to Canada. This is the 2nd part began, when the ship sank and the only survivals are Pi, a hyena, an orang utan, a zebra and a Tiger named Richard Parker. Well I though it must be the most interesting part, but I just got bored with this part, when Pi storied his experiences in his boat. The interesting episode is when the zebra's leg has severe wound, it's broken, bleeding and the hyena eat the zebra alive and his tummy's parts. Yaaaks.... I felt deeply sorry with the zebra, I really can't imagine, yet he still alive for another day after being eaten alive by the damn hyena ! While the orang utan name Orange Juice was very upset and rage, she tried to attacked the hyena until she got killed by the hyena :( The other sadistic description for me is when Pi killed the turtle and big fish. I though that sea turtle is very innocent weak creature. But I can understand that Pi (was a vegie) finally hasn't heartless again to kill and eat rare fishy meat to survive. Okay, finally only two survive. The 3rd part which I considered is when Pi found an big land, he was so happy until he found out that the land has a killer tree. But it's very unique story, this part is great. He ate algae and drink water as much as he can. The 4th and end part is when he was safe and landed in Mexico, he just separated with Richard Parker that day which he was regretfull with there was no saying good bye. He was deeply sad. He was questioned by the Japanese Shipping persons about the sinking ship, they did not believe his story and he made a story without animal. Funny, funny, funny. It's really outragious upcoming movie by M.Night Shamalan release in 2006 (hopefully).
